Please specify which role and site you are interested in volunteering in so we can ensure your enquiry is dealt with efficiently.

Please note that we cannot offer volunteering or work placements to under 18s. If you’re aged 13-18 and interested in museum/heritage work then a great way to get involved is to join our Young Producers group. Please get in touch with Amelia, our Learning Officer for Young People, to find out more.

Grosvenor Museum

  • Family craft activity support: Assist with planning, prep and delivery of family craft activities during school holidays.
  • Meet and Make support: Assist with planning, prep and delivery of ‘Museum Meet and Make’ – older people/dementia inclusive group (fortnightly)
  • Gallery Guide: Talking to visitors within a gallery and interacting with them using one of our handling collections.
  • Events: To assist with one off events, delivering activities and community outreach events.
  • Placement and work experience.

Lion Salt works

  • Education support: Meet/ greet schools, support Learning Assistants with prep and delivery, support with Little Lions (under 5’s activities) and STEM club (Saturday morning science – activity club for children)
  • Family craft activity support: Assist with planning, prep and delivery of family craft activities during school holidays.

Weaver Hall

  • Education support: Meet/greet schools, support Learning Assistants with prep and delivery.
  • Family craft activity support: Assist with planning, prep and delivery of family craft activities during school holidays.

Stretton water mill (Seasonal)

  • Visitor greeter: Welcoming visitors to site, introducing them to the mill, admissions, and Shop.
